As of today, November 23, 2020 we have 2 students from Kenedy MIddle School and Kendy High School who have tested positive for COVID-19 and were present on campus on November 20th. In addition, we have had a number of students who had prolonged exposure to these individuals and our staff has been busy today engaging in contact tracing. We are making phone calls and are asking certain individuals who had prolonged exposure to the person with a lab confirmed COVID-19 positive to self quarantine for 14 days to ensure they do not have the virus, or contribute to the spread of the virus.

The mission of Kenedy ISD is to inspire, prepare and educate students by personalizing the learning experience in order to achieve each student's vision for the future.  Together as a team of students, parents, staff and community this mission is accomplished.

KISD promotes success in the classroom on the "playing field", and at home.  Students, parents, staff, and community members collaborate to create a safe learning environment.  Supported by relevant, state of the art resources and technology, we are a high performing district of choice.  By implementing modern concepts of learning, KISD provides a place where our students' dreams become realities.

SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE

Diana Barrera UgarteSuperintendent Dr. Diana Barrera Ugarte

Hello!

It gives me great pleasure to serve as the Superintendent of Schools for Kenedy ISD. We are experiencing growth in all areas of our district!  Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to take the state assessment - STAAR this year and did not have the opportunity to show just how much our students grew academically, but we plan to pick up where we left off and continue the growth in student learning and student achievement.  Our students were not the only ones who have grown!  Our administrative, teaching and support staff took advantage of the time we were learning remotely and went to a variety of training sessions to help them meet our students needs even better!  We have had several of our teachers acquire their Google certification over the summer and I'm sure there are more than I even know about!
