Kenedy Lions Fall to Wolfpack In Playoff GameWritten By: Ivana Pardo & Jade Rosselli The Kenedy Lions Varsity Basketball Team fought a hard game last night against Lee Academy Wolf pack. The Lions had a great first half keeping it a close game and the boys playing great defense. At half time the Lions and Wolf Pack were tied at 34 to 34, but the Lions continued to fight for the win. Unfortunately the Lions ultimately fell to the Wolfpack with a final score of 72-47. With Eli Asebedo shooting an outstanding amount of three pointers, he helped carry the game scoring a total of 13 points. Throughout the game we had Dedrick Wilson scoring a total of 17 points, Patrick Lopez scoring 8 points, and Lee Garza scoring 6 points. A word from Coach Connell and our seniors: Coach Connell says that they competed hard, and he’s very proud of his team and for playing the number one team in the district they did phenomenal. Patrick Lopez said “It was a good game,we fought hard throughout the whole game, and that i’m glad I got to spend the last season with my fellow senior brothers.” Patrick Lopez also stated that “Sometimes it doesn’t work out in our favor, but as long as we know we gave it a 110% that’s all that matters.” Caleb Sotelo said “I’m so proud of my team, they are all my brothers and they played their hardest and fought to the very end.” Matthew Fuentes stated “I love my team and I am proud of them for not giving up throughout the season and ending the season strong.” Eli Asebedo exclaimed “ We played hard and I’m very proud of my team.  We never gave up and stayed strong throughout the game.  I'm going to miss basketball when I graduate but for the following years I wish them good luck!” Last but not least Alberto Ramirez said “I’m very proud of my team for coming out and competing. No matter what the outcome was, I’ll still love my brothers through thick and thin.  They’ve been with me on this journey for four years and I couldn't thank them enough, KFND!” The lion fans and community are proud of our boys with the season they’ve had, and we wish the best of luck to the seniors and the class of 2018. Go lions!
