Kenedy HS Film Wins 1st For State Award

Congratulations to Rian Garza and the Kenedy Digital Media Club for being selected as the 2020 "Nobeltiy Social Impact" 1st place winner for the State of Texas. Their film, "We Are Not Alone - Mental Health In America," was chosen as the winner on February 25th at the UIL State Film Festival in Austin, Texas.

The award honors student films that advocate for social change and inform audiences about issues affecting their communities.

The film was in a pool of 700+ films to start the competition. The final 48 films were selected for the semi-final round from 1A-4A schools, from which, only six were selected for the nomination at the state film festival. Kenedy High School was then selected as the 1st place winner.

The club also received a $1000 grant for their film to be used on film equipment for future films. Great job KHS! #KenedyProud
