KISD Instructional Support Announcement

KISD Pride,

In order for us to communicate effectively with you, we need to be sure all your contact information is updated.   If you have a new phone number or email address, please call us at 830-583-4100 and tell the staff member you are calling to update your phone number or email address.  They will make sure the information gets to the appropriate person to update your child’s file ASAP.

We are currently aligning the entire district with one technology hub on our website.  It will be released in the next few days and contain “how-to” videos, technical support links, and App links for easy navigation.

Kenedy Elementary & Secondary Instructional packets will be delivered today and tomorrow. If you do not receive them, packets will be available for drive-by-pick-up on Friday, March 20 from 9 am-1 pm in the Kenedy ISD admin Office . Campuses have prepared updates (below) on our plan to provide instructional support for our students.

KES Plan

Teachers have been working hard to help support students instructionally during this crisis. They have created packets for students to complete, one week at a time.  Please do keep these packets, as they will be used to measure student progress. Be on the lookout for an invitation to join their Remind App. This is a way for them (teachers) to send messages to the whole class, a small group, or an individual student/parent.  Please accept the invitation to sign up when you receive it. This app ensures open lines of communication between the teacher and parent. So, if you have any questions or confusion about the packet or online resources, this App will give you the ability to quickly contact the teacher. Plus, it gives teachers a way to send quick updates or reminders as well.   Please call us at 830-583-4100 if you are having trouble signing up with the Remind App or you are not receiving district call outs or messages. Parents, I’ve always said you are an integral part of our team. We need your help now more than ever! Please make sure your child completes his/her work each day. Be on the lookout for more information regarding a transition into virtual learning for grades 2-5.  We will be sharing websites that we have vetted and believe will support learning for our students. I pray that your families stay healthy! As always, be safe, be kind, and be a learner.

KMS and KHS Plan -

Our teachers have been hard at work to get lessons and activities ready to support our students with instruction while we are not on campus.  Students can access information two ways. They can log in using Google Classroom either on a laptop, tablet or mobile device. To access on a tablet or phone, you need to download the Google Classroom app and from a computer you will need to go to a webpage and access the classroom through  From there, you will need to log in using your username which is your 5 digit student ID and  Your password is your log in to the computer/Chromebooks on campus. If you do not have internet access or a computer, we will provide packets to students.  These packets will be available to pick up on Friday, March 20 from 8:30am to 6pm at the administration office (old middle school). Should you have any questions during this time, teachers will be contacting students once a week to check up on students and their learning.  Please feel free to email teachers at any time. Thank you so much for your continued support. Please do not hesitate to call us if you have any questions.
